A Community of Learners
At Discovery Days we are community driven. We want parents and children to feel a part of the community we call Discovery Days. When you walk in the door you enter as a visitor, but everyone leaves as part of the family.
Parent-teacher conferences are held annually for an opportunity to have open communication between parent and teacher without the worry of rushing or interruption. Discovery Days parents become connected to one another within the walls of our little community.
Parrot Baby Bay
Ages six weeks to 1 year
The Parrot Baby Bay is a nurturing, safe haven for infants’ age 6 weeks to 1 year old. Primary caregivers provide loving attention that is individualized and based on needs.
Our infants are treated with the utmost respect as individuals with the freedom to explore, learn, and given plenty of time with uninterrupted play. These principles are based from the concept of the RIE Approach.
Giraffe Junction
1 year old
The Giraffe Junction is specifically created for the curiosity and wonder of one year olds. When given a safe and appropriate place to walk, climb and play the world is an open book. Children will naturally show us as teachers what they are eager to learn. Our highly trained teaching team work with these precious one year olds to advance their development.
TwoCan TreeHouse
2 years old
Two year olds like to express how they “CAN” do it! In our TWO-CAN Treehouse that is our motto too! Independence and character are two of the best ways to describe our fun TwoCans. Every day is full of laughter, age appropriate activities, stories, circle time, learning games, outside play, and more.
Monkey Tribe
3 years old (Potty Trained)
Come monkey around with us in our three year old preschool, The Monkey Tribe. This beginner preschool is a great way to introduce your little one into an environment of learning. Play based centers are introduced with a different theme every week. Zoo Phonics is a letter learning curriculum successfully used by the Monkey Tribe.
Lion’s Den
4 & 5 years old
The Lion’s Den is our Premiere Preschool where 4 and 5 year olds prepare for kindergarten. Our certified school teacher constructs a curriculum where academics are consistently a priority. Zoo Phonics, name-writing, Spanish, days of the week, months of the year, numbers, shapes, colors and social integration are all key components of the Lion’s Den. Every day the students are active participants in caring for one another and their environment. They play outside and experience our special “Magic Play” role-playing room daily.
Wilderness Explorers
6-12 years old
Wilderness Explorers is a home to our school age program. It hosts a Before and After school program to three local school districts, programming for breaks (Winter break, Spring break and Summer break), and a spectacular summer camp. Our Summer camp boasts to be one of the best in West Michigan. Kids return every year just to participate in the amazing festivities that are planned annually. The Wilderness Explorers participate in three field trips weekly, wacky water days, a techno party day, and wild in-house guests. Early sign ups are encouraged as our program fills up to capacity fast!
